I had buried all 4 of my grandparents and Father with Ward Van Slyke so when my mom passed I knew without a doubt that is where I would go. Jennifer and her staff went above and beyond to not only help us through the process but opened their arms and hearts to guide us along this journey. They were so caring to not only me but my entire family. Special shout out to Rod for caring so much to make sure my Mom looked good. God Bless you all and thank you from the bottom of my heart.

So on August 10th 2024 I made a call to this funeral home less then 24 hours after I lost my baby girl. I went into pre term labor at just 21 weeks 4 days and my little girl passed 3 hours after birth. Didn’t think at 34 years old I would be calling funeral homes...

We proudly support veterans with military honors, including flag presentation and Taps, plus VA benefits like headstones and burial allowances. Let us coordinate a dignified tribute to their service.
We are proud to be among the most affordable providers in the area, and we’re always open to having conversations about what’s financially comfortable for your family. Our goal is to be as transparent and straightforward as possible.
We offer a ‘Simple Cremation’ package for $2,195, which includes everything needed for a dignified and respectful cremation. Outside of that, most families only need to plan for a $75 fee from the medical examiner and $15 per death certificate.
If needed, we’re also happy to help connect families with local assistance organizations or support programs that may be able to help with costs.
This is one of the most important questions you can ask, and we take it incredibly seriously. Because we own and operate our own crematory, your loved one never leaves our care.
Our team oversees each step personally, from the moment your loved one comes into our care, through the paperwork, the cremation itself, and the return of their remains to your family. We use a carefully documented tracking process to ensure your loved one’s identity and dignity are honored every step of the way.
In most cases, cremation can take place within about two days after a person’s passing. That allows time for the necessary authorizations and medical approvals to be completed. If you're choosing a service or burial instead, the timeline depends more on your family's preferences and availability. We're here to walk you through each step and make it as smooth and timely as possible.
Absolutely not. We believe in helping families create meaningful services without pressure or sales tactics. Everything we offer is explained clearly and respectfully, and you’re in complete control of your choices. We offer itemized pricing and flexible packages so you can see exactly what you’re paying for and decide what fits best for your wishes and your budget.
Not at all. While many people assume they need to choose the closest option, you can absolutely work with the funeral home that best aligns with your values, your preferences, and your comfort level, even if it’s a little farther away. We are honored to serve families from all over Northern Iowa and beyond. We also offer online arrangements and digital tools, so much of the process can be done from the comfort of your home.
